A saddle is one of the few items in “Minecraft” that cannot be crafted by the player. You won’t be able to make a saddle like you can with the Elytra, the other item in the game that pertains to transportation, so you’ll need to look for one instead.
To our good fortune, locating saddles can be accomplished in various ways. Once you have it, the only thing left for you to do is to put it to use to bring some food or treats for the animal you plan on riding.
How to find a saddle in ‘Minecraft.’
There are four ways to obtain a saddle:
- Looting treasure chests
- Exchanging items with other players
- Fishing
- Hunting for game animals
Treasure chests
If you’re looking for a saddle, look no further than the next dungeon and temple locations in both the original and modded versions of Minecraft.
With Nether Fortress chests (35.3 per cent), a dungeon chest (28.3 per cent), or a desert temple chest (10.1 per cent), your best bet is to find a saddle in one of these chests (23.5 per cent).
To obtain a Nether fortress chest, you must first enter the Nether realm through an obsidian-made Nether Portal. On the other hand, you can find dungeon chests in the Overworld by digging down until you find a cave network. Caves are always near dungeons.
With that, we come to our final temple type: Desert Temple. These are found in desert biomes, and their chests are contained within the pyramid. There is a TNT trap between the cupboards, and if you step on it, it will detonate, destroying the compartments and their contents, as well as you.
Fishing
When fishing in any body of water, there is always a chance that you will stumble upon buried treasure rather than catch any fish. Nevertheless, the chances of successfully reeling in a saddle from your fishing line are less than one per cent by default.
Enchanting your fishing rod with a “Luck of the Sea” enchantment can help you improve your chances of catching fish, but it takes some time and effort to do so. You will be able to see a saddle much more quickly if you enhance it with a “Lure” enchantment of level 3. You can study fishing rod enchantments and still wait patiently for an outcome.
The only things you’ll need are a fishing pole and some water. As long as the water is not too deep, any body of water, including an artificial pond, a large river, or even the ocean, can be used.
Trade with a Master Leatherworker
If you have a lot of emeralds, you can trade them for a saddle with your local Leatherworker. Putting a cauldron in the path of an unemployed villager will transform them into a Leatherworker if you can’t find one.
To get a saddle, trade emeralds with the Leatherworker until they reach “Master” status.
Remember that this trade is only offered to players playing on the console-friendly “Bedrock” version of the game.
Kill a Ravager
In the end, if you enjoy the adrenaline rush of a good hunt, you can take down a raven. Bull-like enemies are strong foes that accompany pillagers on their raids.
When a Ravager dies, they always leave behind a saddle.
How to use your saddle in ‘Minecraft.’
Saddle up, and you’re ready to go. You’ll have to decide on an animal, though.
The obvious choices include horses, donkeys, and mules. To tame an animal, mount it until it stops bucking you off; the number of times this is necessary is random for each animal. Place the saddle on them as soon as they’ve been tamed.
You can reclaim your saddle by hopping on the animal and pressing the inventory button. When you open the inventory, you’ll notice the saddle.
On the other hand, Pigs and Striders are a lot of fun.
Using your saddle to ride a pig
You can get a pig’s attention with a carrot in your hand. Put the saddle in your Hotbar so you can use it, and then put the saddle on the pig to start the quest.
To get started, choose a pig that you want to ride. It is necessary to use a Carrot on a Stick to coax the pig to run in any direction you choose.
A saddled-up It is possible that riding a Strider would be more beneficial than a pig because Strider can walk across the lava.
Using Your Saddle to Ride a Strider
Striders, one of Minecraft’s newest types of mobs, can be found roaming all over the Nether’s lava oceans and multiple locations. Using a Strider to traverse the lava is a risk-free option.
In the same way that pigs can be enticed, striders can be drawn with a highly desired delicacy known as warped fungus.
Place the horse saddle in your hot bar, and then employ it on the Strider as soon as it is in the appropriate range. Once that is complete, use your “use” action to mount the Strider and then proceed to approach it from behind.
You will need a fishing rod to control the Strider, which moves around with the help of a twisted fungus that is mounted on a stick.
Be mindful, however, that once you have saddled your pig or Strider, there is no going back once you’ve committed to going forward with the process.
