Does Overwatch support cross-platform gaming?
If you’ve been an avid fan of OverwatchYou may already be aware that Cross-Platform Gaming has been introduced after many years of requests! Cross-platform is a limitation that you have to work with only a small number of people on the same platform. With the latest update, there are almost limitless options available to you.
All supported platforms include:
- Xbox
- PC
- PlayStation
- Nintendo Switch
Cross-platform is it possible in a competitive mode?
Overwatch currently does not allow cross-platform play in competitive mode. This means that the PC players will have to keep playing against the console players, and the console players will have to continue their play.

This is due to any unfair advantage a PC player may have over a console user. A PC player who ends up in a matchmaking pool with one or more console gamers is automatically added to that pool, giving them an advantage.
So, until this issue isn’t resolved, you would have to play with the players of the same platform.
What can you do to enable cross-platform mode
The million-dollar question is: How do we enable Overwatch cross platform mode on our devices. You can follow these steps to accomplish this.
Register for a Battle.net account
This is a step that console gamers will need to take. All you need is:
- Open battle.net for your search engine
- Navigate to My Account, and click Create my Account. It will be located in the upper right corner of your screen.
- Your account is now created
Register your new account
Once the account has been created, you will need to link your console account with the newly created account. You will need to:
- Start Overwatch on your console
- The console will display a QR code along with an alphanumeric code
- Log in to the Battle.net/pair account.
- To complete the process, you will need to enter the code you have received on the pairing page.
- You will receive a QR Code instead.
Cross-play is available on consoles as well as PC. The console players have the option to change the settings and turn it off if they wish. However, it is required that you sign up for a battle.net account. This feature cannot be disabled by PC players.

Does Overwatch support Cross Progression?
Sadly, Overwatch does not support cross-progression. You would need to start over from scratch if your account is transferred to another platform. This includes any purchases made on that particular platform.
Cross progression integration is something that the developers are interested in, although it may take some time. Launch progression would happen after years of work, given that the cross-platform mode has still been in Beta.
