How to Kick Someone from Private Server in CSGO

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a popular first-person shooter game for teams. Because of its popularity, the game draws both good and bad players. If you know how to deal with the game’s shady characters, you’ll be able to keep your game stress-free.

How to Kick Players on a Private Server or Match

If you have admin privileges on a private server, the simplest way to kick a player is to use a console command. Follow these steps to get started:

  • In a console window, launch a command prompt. The default binding for this is the tilde key.
  • Enter “kick” followed by the username of the player you want to kick out.
  • Press the Enter key to execute a command.
  • Following that, the player should be kicked out of the game.

If you don’t have admin rights and want to ask the other players to kick a specific player, you can start a vote. As a result, all participants will be able to vote. A player will be removed from the game if a significant enough majority votes. To run the command, follow these steps:

  • In a console window, launch a command prompt.
  • Enter your status.
  • The name of the player can be found in the player database. Remember the numbers that come after the # before their name.
  • The player’s number and call vote kick should be entered.
  • Turn on the key.
  • Before you vote, let the other players vote y or n.
  • The player will be removed from the game if a majority of yes votes are cast after all ballots have been launched.

The vote can also be begun without first opening the console. To kick a player out of the game, press ESC while the game is still running. The voting process should follow the same logic as the command line.

Are There Other Commands to Deal with Rowdy Players?

Some console commands can be used to silence any player communication without removing them from the game. These commands provide the following instructions:

  1. voice_mute [player number] mutes the player whose name is entered after the command. When this is done, the player cannot communicate via voice chat.
  2. voice_show_mute – This command displays a list of players who can be muted using the mute voice command.
  3. voice_unmute [player number] – This command will unmute a player who was muted by the mute voice command.
  4. voice_reset_mutelist – unmutes all players who the mute voice command has muted.
  5. cl_mute_all_except_friends_and_party [0/1]- This will mute players who aren’t on your Steam Friends list or in your party. Entering 0 after the command disables it while entering 1 enables it. By default, this command is disabled.
  6. cl_mute_enemy_team [0/1] – This will mute all participants of the opposing team. The command is disabled at 0, while it is enabled at 1. This is disabled by default in the game.

Why Can’t I Use the Console Commands?

When you press the Tilde button, you may notice that the command window does not appear. Even though console commands are usually enabled, they can restrict their use. To use this feature, go through the following steps:

  1. In the Steam Launcher, go to Library.
  2. After finding the game in the left menu, right-click on its name to begin the installation.
  3. Select Properties from the context menu.
  4. Click the button on the General Tab to configure Launch Options.
  5. In the new window that appears, type console.
  6. Select Yes.
  7. The console menu should appear when you first start the game.

You can do this on the game console for a more direct method.

  1. Launch the CS:GO, client.
  2. In the menu above, select Options.
  3. Choose your options in the game’s settings.
  4. In the menu that appears, look for Enable Developer Console and select Yes.
  5. By clicking on it, you can get to the Home button. It’s time for the settings to be automatically updated.

You can rebind the Console Command Key to something other than tilde by following these steps.

  1. Select the Options button from the CSGO main menu.
  2. Select Keyboard/Mouse from the Tools menu.
  3. The toggle Console is located near the bottom of the new menu that appears.
  4. It is possible to click on the text box to its right. Following that, you will be prompted to select a command button.
  5. When you’re done editing, click the Home button. Your decision should be saveable.
  6. You can now access the Console Command Window by pressing the bound button.

Taking a Time Out

CSGO can get a little heated due to the nature of the game. Some see this as a natural part of the competition, while others see it as an opportunity to aggravate the situation further. When you’re in this situation, both the kick and mute commands come in handy. It’s a good idea to take a break when one player is ruining the fun of the game.
