Riot Reveals LoL Worlds 2222 Location
The 2022 LoL World Championships will be held in multiple locations across North America. Riot has, as always, a dedicated Play In Phase as well as a Main Phase. Players and teams that have qualified for the Play In Phase of the 2022 International Championship will travel to Mexico City. Those who automatically qualify for the Main-Stage will go to New York City.
Worlds Play-In Stage Location
The Play-Ins will be held in Mexico City, as previously mentioned. This stage brings together minor regions, as well as the last seeds of major regions like the LEC, LCS, LCK and LPL. The event will take place at Arena Esports Stadium, the home of LLA.

Worlds Group & Quaterfinals Location
The 2022 League of Legends World Championships’ group stage will be played in New York City, as well as the quarterfinals. It’s not the first time that the World Championship has traveled to New York. The semi-finals were held in 2016 between SKT T1 vs. Rox Tigers and Samsung Galaxy vs. H2K Esports were held at Madison Square Garden.
This time around the players will be playing in a much smaller environment, making the Hulu Theatre Madison Square Garden They will be playing in the Group Stage and Quarterfinals at their home.

Worlds Semifinals Location
Riot originally had intended for the Semifinals at Toronto, Canada. But due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic they have had to alter the schedule. The Semifinals were moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The State Farm Arena can host up to 21,000 spectators.
Worlds Finals Location
For the finals, we will be traveling west. The Finals event was announced last year shortly after the 2021 World Championship concluded at Chase Center. For any fans who are interested, here’s the link. San Francisco, You better get ready, as over 18,000 fans may be permitted into the venue to witness the 2022 League of Legends World Championship finals.
LoL Worlds 2022 Schedule – When Are The Games?
Riot announced the official schedule for the League of Legends World Championship on July 21, 2022. The event is going to kick off on September 29 and end November 5 in San Francisco, California.
Full Worlds 2022 Calendar:
- Play-Ins: September 29-October 4, at the Arena Esports Stadium Artz Pedregal, Mexico City, Mexico
- Groups: October 7-10 and 13-16 at Hulu Theater Madison Square Garden, New York City.
- Quarterfinals: October 20-23, at the Hulu Theater Madison Square Garden in New York City
- Semifinals: October 29-30 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta (Georgia);
- Finals: November 5, at Chase Center, San Francisco, California.

LoL World Championship Format Explained
The League of Legends World Championship format can be understood easily. As mentioned previously, There are several stages to the tournament. The play-in stage is the first.. Each team is divided into four groups. These groups will play a small tournament in order to determine the top 4 qualifying teams for this main event.
The main event will begin once the play-in teams have been divided into groups. The main event features four groups of four teams. The Quarterfinals will see the top two teams from each group advance to the knockout bracket.
Is there a double elimination for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship?
Riot has been asked by many fans to include a double elimination bracket in their international tournament. this has not been implemented in League of Legends yet. Riot’s FPS esport VALORANT does offer a double elimination bracket for their big events. But, we doubt that this will be available during the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.
Which Teams Have Qualified for the 2022 LoL World Championship?
24 teams will be able to participate in the biggest League of Legends Esports Tournament of the Year. Minor regions such as Brazil, Oceania, and Turkey will be given one slot while larger regions may receive two to three slots. Korea, China and Europe will have four teams coming to the event.
Europe was granted a fourth spot due to the LCL’s inability to compete and take part in the World Championship. The LCL has been granted a fourth-seed spot in the Play In stage by the LEC. In the Play-In phase, the LEC will have two-teams.
So far, no team has qualified for the League of Legends World Championship. However, we will notify you when a team has made it possible.

The 2022 League of Legends World Championship: First Qualified Team
The first team to have qualified for the 2022 LoL World Championship was the LEC MSI representative G2 Esports. The team experienced a slump during the Summer Split but recovered to win their sport in North America.
